A wooded nature and countless lakes deeply mark the design of the golf courses in Northern Finland. Its 18-hole courses are mostly larger than in other places, and the rates they apply are very reasonable. In addition, at that time of the year temperatures are pleasant and hover around 20-25ºC.
Currently, there are 132 golf clubs and it is estimated that one in 40 Finns are members and play golf.

Green Zone Golf Club
For its part, the Green Zone Golf Club course in Tornio makes the sport cross borders, literally, with nine holes laid out in Finland, and the rest in Sweden. The border follows the Tornio River, which is naturally incorporated in the area of the course and as a curiosity, it is said that there is one of the games in which it takes an hour, because of the time difference. In summer this course organizes one of the most famous competitions in the country, the 90-hole Midnight Sun Marathon Tournament, which lasts several days and is held at the end of June.
