What is the Spanish Women’s Open?
The Open de España Femenino is the national tournament of reference for women’s golf in Spain. Officialized by the Royal Spanish Golf Federation since 2002, this championship has its origins in previous unofficial editions dating back to 1982.
This tournament is part of the Ladies European Tour (LET) and is usually played in 72-hole stroke-play format.
Since 2024, the event has been called Andalucía Costa del Sol Open de España presented by Oysho, and its venue for the last two editions has been the Real Guadalhorce Club de Golf, in Málaga.

Participation and sports relevance
The tournament brings together 72 professionals and elite amateur guests, who compete for prizes such as the Celia Barquín Award for the best amateur performance.
Among the Spanish representatives, the most outstanding are consolidated figures of the circuit: Carlota Ciganda from Navarre -defender of the 2024 title- and Azahara Muñoz from Malaga, two-time champion of the tournament, who aspire to become three-time champions.
In addition, the presence of young and ambitious players reflects the steady growth of women’s golf in Spain, consolidating the tournament as a showcase for national and international talent.
