

The Almeria course of Almerimar has hosted the first round of the Senior Circuit of Andalusia 2017, which has started its season breaking records of participation, with a total of 120 players, who have played 18 holes under individual Stableford modality, in three categories of men and two categories of ladies.
The participants enjoyed a splendid day of golf on a course that, in addition to being in excellent conditions, has been very enthusiastic to make the competition a success.
Thus, the local player, Jose Sanchez, has won the victory in the first category of gentlemen, showing his good knowledge of the course, and delivering an excellent result of 43 stableford points. Second place, behind him, went to Ken Spencer (La Quinta Golf), with 38 points. With two points less (36), Pedro Miguel Cevey took the third place prize.
As for the second category of gentlemen, the player of the Real Club de Campo de Málaga, José Carlos Luque, has occupied the first position with 37 points, two more than Stephen Raoul (Alborán Golf). The local player, Manuel Ortega, has completed the podium with 34 points, in addition to collecting the prize in the category over 70 years.
For his part, Tomás Eklund has delivered 29 points that have earned him the first place in the third category of gentlemen. After him, with 26 points, second and third place went to local player Ramón Gálvez, and Juan Antonio León, from Lauro Golf.
Moving on to the women’s classification, in the first category, the victory went to Julia Torres, federated by La Envia Golf Club, who scored 36 points (par). With 34 points, Tuula Ulader, from Lauro Golf, has been second, while Antonia Silva (Real Club de Golf Guadalmina), has collected the third prize with 32 points.
Finally, the player of Granada Club de Golf, Rocío Hernández, took first place in the second ladies’ category with 37 points, the same as Mª Teresa López (Club de Golf La Envía), whom she beat by handicap difference. The bronze went to the also federated by La Envia, Ana Maria Salvador, with 33 points.
