
30-year-old Álvaro Quirós, from Cadiz, returns to official competition today. after four months of inactivity, and he does it many thousands of kilometers away from home, at the Avantha Masters in India, an official tournament of the European Tour. Quirós underwent surgery on his right wrist just over three months ago, but is now ready for action despite the fact that he has not competed since November of last year. The golfer from Cádiz has dropped down the world rankings to the current number 119.
Short-term plans for the Andalusian, one of the longest hitters on the circuit, include playing a couple more weeks of European Tour tournaments in Malaysia and Morocco, which will probably lead him to the Spanish Open in April.
Jorge Campillo from Extremadura returns to this Avantah Maters tournament, although at a new venue, where he finished second last year. He will play alongside Spaniards Javi Colomo, José Manuel Lara, Pablo Larrazábal, Alejandro Cañizares and Nacho Garrido.
Colin Montgomerie, Edoardo Molinari, David Howell, Niclas Fasth or Thomas Levet are some of the most important players in the tournament.
