Golf players under 26 years old are in luck. Thanks to the initiative of several golf courses -at the proposal of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation-, children, teenagers and young people will be able to enjoy the sport of golf during the summer months with more than special conditions.
The “Golf Joven” program has just been born, a project launched by the federation, which will encourage children to enjoy golf with their parents, and will facilitate its practice to teenagers and university students.
During the first days of July, the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation presented this new program to the golf courses. In less than a week, there are already fifteen federated courses from different parts of Andalusia that have joined it, with the purpose of helping to grow and ensure the future of the sport.
The agreement proposed by the Royal Federation establishes a series of minimums. Thus, the green fee for players federated by the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation up to 13 years of age will be free, at least during the vacation months, and provided that children are accompanied by an adult, who will pay green fees.
As for players between 14 and 25 years of age (included), the golf courses that are members of the agreement will charge a maximum of 25 euros for 18 holes in this same period. It is very important to remember that – based on this general framework proposed by the “Golf Joven” program – each course will be free to extend or specify these conditions, and that those interested should contact the courses directly for more information.

The aim of this project is to avoid the loss of a generation of golfers between the ages of 18 and 30. It is typical that players initiated in golf during their childhood and adolescence abandon it during their college years due to lack of economic resources, and do not remember it again until they reach a certain age, when they have begun their sporting decline in other disciplines.
Thus, with this new initiative, the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and the federated golf courses that have joined it, are once again committed to promoting the sport among the youngest players as the best way to ensure the future of the sport.
