
The good weather, the extraordinary quality of the course and a very friendly atmosphere characterized the Andalucía Golf Tournament played this Sunday at Atalaya Old Course. Spanish and foreign players enjoyed a splendid sporting day at the prestigious course designed by Bernhard Von Limburger and inaugurated in 1967, followed by lunch at the facilities of the Costa del Sol club located in the municipality of Estepona.
The competition distributed numerous gifts sponsored by the fairway+blue store, Tom Tom, Holiday Golf and D.O. Somontano wines.
The amateurs who attended the tournament generally played at a good level and enjoyed both the course and the good weather. The tournament brought together a varied representation of nationalities, with a preponderance of Spaniards, who greatly enjoyed the sports day.
The awards ceremony at the Atalaya clubhouse was presided over by Andalucía Golf editor Antonio Sánchez, and Gabriella Johne, director of the fairway+blue store.
On as far as the sporting results are concerned, in the first category the victory went to Alexandre Gontchenkov, with 37 points. Second place, with the same score, went to Jonas Siljestrom, and third place, with 35 points, to David Hamilton. In the second category, Jan Policki won with 41 points. Second with 36 points was Francisco Carrillo, while third place went to Garry Cotterill, also with 36 points.
The scratch winner was Alexandre Gontchenkov, while the special prize for the closest ball to the flag went to Maria Libert, who also won the prize for the longest drive for women, while the prize for the longest drive for men was won by Francisco Carrillo.
