The bullfighters’ team won the 4th edition of the traditional golf tournament that pits them against the cattle ranchers every year in the impressive setting of the Real Club de Golf de La Herrería. It was an emotional and spring day, with H.R.H. the Infanta Elena as witness, who was awarded the Trophy Víctor Barrio for her support to bullfighting. “One suffers in abundance, one cries in abundance. The battles are hard and some are lost but in the end love and affection is what stands out from all this experience”, were some of the words of the Infanta in her speech when she received the award.
As a golf and bullfighting tournament already consolidated in the amateur golfing calendar in Spain, the participation of the top bullfighters and the head of the Spanish bulls could not have been better represented .
Morante de la Puebla, Enrique Ponce, Roca Rey, Manuel Escribano, Sebastián Palomo, Pepín Liria, Manuel Caballero, Javier Valverde, Eduardo Dávila Miura, Óscar Higares, José Ramón García Olivares “Chechu”, Pepe Moral, etc. were some of the participating bullfighters. While on the part of the breeders were Juan Pablo Corona, Juan Pedro Domecq, Pedro and Sergio Trapote, Iván Bohorquez, Silvia Camacho… There were also known faces such as Bernardo Schuster or Francis Lorenzo.
