Cabrera-Bello wins sixth Spanish victory of the year in Scotland

It has taken five years, but Rafael Cabrera-Bello has finally tasted the honey of victory again. It has been in the Scottish Open, one of the exclusive and millionaire in prizes tournaments of the Rolex Series. The victory of the Canarian golfer is the sixth that a Spanish player gets this season and joins the two of Sergio Garcia (Dubai Desert Classic and Masters of Augusta), the two of Jon Rahm (Farmers Insurantce and Open de RIlanda) and Alvaro Quiros (Rocco Forte Open).

Cabrera-Bello won with a total of 13 under par and a final round of 64 strokes after beating Englishman Callum Shinkwin on the first playoff hole. Third place, with -10, went to Frenchman Matthieu Pavon.

For his victory, the Spaniard pocketed one million euros of the seven million euros in prize money awarded by the tournament, played at the Dundonald Links course.

Thus, all eyes are on the great event of world golf to be held from Thursday at Royal Birkdale: the British Open, officially called The Open Championship, which this year celebrates its 146th edition. Will we see the seventh triumph of a Spaniard this season?
