Carlota Ciganda and Sergio García, second and fourth in China

Spanish golf has shined this weekend in the Far East. Carlota from Navarra finished second in Suzhou and Carlota from Castellón finished fourth in Shanghai. Winner in 2012 and second in 2013, Carlota once again showed a magnificent performance in the China Suzhou Taihu Open, a tournament of the European Women’s Tour that has been played at the Suzhou Taihu International Golf Club (Suzhou, China) and that, as seen by the results, the Navarrese golfer is very good at it.With rounds of 67, 68 and 68, she was only surpassed by the French Gwladys Nocera, who once again showed her great quality by winning the title in a tournament where she went from strength to strength, with rounds of 69, 67 and 65 that were unreachable for the rest of her rivals. Tania Elósegui and María Hernández, tied in 28th place, completed the Spanish performance, where Carlota Ciganda acted as a beacon for another week.

Sergio Garcia, fourth at the WGC – HSBC Champions

Sergio Garcia finished fourth in the WGC – HSBC Champions held at Sheshan International GC (Shanghai, China). Always in the leading positions, a sensational last round, reflected in a card of 63 strokes thanks to 9 birdies with no faults, catapulted the golfer from Castellón to fourth place in a tournament dominated with authority by the American Dustin Johnson, who was propelled to the top of the ranking, also by a stratospheric 63, on the second day.
