Cerrado del Aguila Golf & Resort is one of the best 9-hole courses on the Costa del Sol. Located in a beautiful spot very close to Fuengirola (eight minutes by car), in the well-known Golf Valley of Mijas, near the courses of El Chaparral, La Cala, Santana Golf and Mijas Golf and a short distance from the Costa del Sol Racecourse. Undoubtedly, this course is an ideal enclave for lovers of this sport.
Inaugurated in 2007, its designer, Francisco Navarro, made very good use of the available land, making large earthworks to achieve flat and wide fairways, very comfortable to play.
It is not very common to find a course with these characteristics on the Costa del Sol, with so many different obstacles, including two large lakes, and a variety of distances. It forces us to use all the clubs in the bag, with three par 3’s, four par 4’s and two par 5’s, the longest being 567 meters.
Its lakes, long fairways and fantastic ocean views create a spectacular experience. Large greens for the most demanding golfers. Although the course can be done on foot, buggy rental service is also available.
The director of the course, Marco Civiero, highlights the beauty of the views -with Fuengirola and the sea in the background- of the 4th hole, a par 3 with a lake cooling the fairway and the green on whose tee wedding ceremonies have been held because of the idyllic panoramic views.
The fairways are mostly wide, combined with others that demand a more technical level of play. The greens are not too large, but offer numerous flag positions. From almost every hole there are spectacular views of the Mediterranean.
Cerrado del Águila is a course open to the public and offers very competitive prices, both in single green fees and in the various types of season tickets it sells. The same applies to buggies, clubs and other rental equipment, as well as its Academy.
Among its facilities, it is worth mentioning the wide practice fairway, which is 250 meters long and has a slight upward slope, allowing players to hit both on grass and on mats.
The beautiful clubhouse has a restaurant and gymnasium. The resort is complemented by formidable paddle tennis facilities, with a total of 9 courts, four of which are indoor, and also has a tennis court.
The resort includes a wide range of real estate, both villas and apartments, at very attractive prices.
