Carlota Ciganda has been on the verge of fulfilling her dream of winning on the American Women’s Tour, the LPGA Tour, although finally one of the fearsome Korean players has spoiled her attempt.
The player from Navarra was second in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational.Inbee Park, the world number 2 in South Korea, finally won the tournament. Park totaled 270 strokes, -18, three less than the Spaniard, whose best round of the day (63) was not enough to win.
Even without victory, Ciganda has signed the best week of the year in the competitive LPGA Tour. Carlota turned professional in 2011 and the following year made her debut on the American Women’s Tour.
On the other hand, Azahara Muñoz from Malaga was in 31st place with +8 in this tournament in honor of the Mexican player who was once number one in the world.
