Clark, Kuchar, Fox and Cabrera Bello, stars at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters

The American duo of Wyndham Clark and Matt Kuchar will converge in Spain with Ryan Fox and Rafa Cabrera Bello to experience the start of a new stage of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, to be played from October 19 to 22 at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.

The tournament moves to this historic club where its ninth edition will be held, culminating a two-week tour that began at the Acciona Open de España presented by Madrid, and tickets can be purchased through the following web site tournament website or on the website of the DP World Tour.

Wyndham Clark, champion of the last U.S. Open, has had a spectacular year in 2023, winning his first PGA Tour victory at the Wells Fargo Championship in May and then claiming his first major at Los Angeles Country Club within a month, one stroke ahead of Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

The 29-year-old finished third in the FedExCup, his best result to date. Subsequently, the world number ten made his Ryder Cup debut with the U.S. team at the Marco Simone Golf & Country Club last week, a spectacular prelude to his visit to Spain for the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters.

“I’ve never played in Spain, so I’m really looking forward to it,” Clark declares. “I’ve seen pictures of the course and it’s awesome. It will be great to play it and also enjoy what we encounter in Spain.”

Matt Kuchar, a four-time Ryder Cup participant and member of the U.S. team that won at Hazeltine in 2016, is looking forward to his debut in Spain.

“In recent years I haven’t played in Europe as much as I would have liked, and I’ve heard great things about this tournament, so I’m sure it’s going to be a great week.”

“We golfers are fortunate to travel the world for our work, but in more than 20 years as a professional I have not had the opportunity to play in Spain. I’m looking forward to going to Sotogrande and seeing what it has to offer.”

Ryan Fox, recent champion of the BMW PGA Championship who defends his title this week at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland, made his Rolex Series debut at Wentworth last month and is looking to cap off a great season.

“There are some great tournaments in the final stage of the Race to Dubai, and the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters is one of them,” Fox explains.

“Last month I finished third in Ireland and I think the good run I’m on will help me build momentum going into the last few tournaments of the year. The course looks fantastic and I’m really looking forward to Sotogrande in a couple of weeks.”

Rafa Cabrera Bello, a Rolex Series tournament winner and player in the 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine whose most recent victory came in Madrid in 2021, is looking forward to returning to his home country in search of more success.

“The Real Club de Golf Sotogrande is an impressive course and deserves to host a tournament of the prestige of the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters,” said the Gran Canarian.

“Winning in Madrid was one of the best moments of my career for doing it in front of our fans, so I’m looking forward to the opportunity to repeat.”

Tickets for the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters are now available, with discounts for members of the federation and free access for children under thirteen, at the tournament website.

The Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters, DP World Tour tournament valid for the Race to Dubai that is held thanks to the essential collaboration of the Real Club de Golf Sotogrande, is sponsored by Estrella Damm and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, in addition to being co-financed with European funds and having been declared an event of exceptional public interest by the Government of Spain.
