
Nestled in the clubhouse of the spectacular Villa Padierna Golf Resort, the D’Canter Restaurant is an establishment at the height of the prestigious complex that houses it.
This clubhouse, located next to the tee of hole 1 of Flamingos Golf, is a beautiful and coquettish Tuscan-style building, very much in keeping with the Villa Padierna Palace hotel, which is part of the complex, and therefore with a luxurious, baroque and colorful decoration, which in a way can also recall the classic English style of the great mansions.
Of course, having a few beers here or lunch before or after playing golf at this splendid resort is a real luxury.
Few club restaurants on the Costa del Sol can boast a terrace like D’Canter’s, with views of the sea, the golf course and a large part of the coast, and a first class gastronomy.
At the helm of this restaurant is Nilesh Patel, a successful businessman who was born in Gambia and later lived in London, where he created half a dozen companies related to the hospitality industry. Twelve years ago he settled in Marbella and set up a company importing international gastronomic products that could not be found in Spain: special types of pasta, spices and exotic aromatic herbs? The clientele began to grow rapidly and now it is another of his successful businesses.
Focusing on the D’Canter Restaurant, he explains that it offers international cuisine. “There are Asian dishes, Indian food, Mexican, Italian and, of course, Spanish, salt fish, even tapas… and all with one thing in common: the highest quality of the product”.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also specializes in celebrations of all kinds, both business events and family events (weddings, baptisms, communions…), with a capacity of up to 140 diners.
“The golfer,” says Patel, “will find what he wants here, from breakfast, which can be international, English, Spanish, French, etc., to lunch, with a wide variety of dishes, and dinner, with different menus. For events, we offer different options, from cocktails with canapés to four-course menus.
While the entire restaurant stands out for its tasteful décor, the Members’ Lounge stands out for its refinement, classic elegance and elegant ambiance. “It’s an exceptional site,” highlights Patel, “impressive, which we can occasionally use for high-profile events, provided we have its availability from partners.”
