It was far from being a skeet or duck shot, but in the end the golfer facing the last hole at the TPC Sawgrass in Florida did not even imagine that his shot would have such an unexpected consequence. Amateur Ryan Gray focused on the 18th tee, wielded his driver and hit…. with such bad luck that a duck crossed coincidentally its trajectory with that of the ball and the animal fell into the lake that flanks the hole on the left.
The amazing moment was captured by a player who was filming the hole and the images were uploaded to social media and spread like wildfire. Although it might sound like black humor, in this case it could be said that Ryan scored a birdie.
One of the witnesses to the fatal blow is heard saying on the video recording “Oh my God, did that really happen?”, while another exclaims “Are you kidding me?”.
The person filming the scene moved quickly to the edge of the lake after the strike and watched as the duck’s body sank, leaving a trail of blood behind it.
The video was uploaded to Instagram by a friend of Ryan’s with the comment, “For those of you who think this was staged or fake, open your minds and get out there and make friends.”
