The San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge Costa del Sol Destino Dominican Republic by Globalia is off to a strong start in its fifteenth edition. The circuit, organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf / España Golf, had a spectacular start at Finca Cortesín, venue of the Solheim Cup 2023, where the best European golfers beat the Americans in a historic duel.
A first-rate course and impeccable organization
Finca Cortesín is not only recognized for its sporting track record, but also for its leadership in sustainability, using regenerated water for 100% of its irrigation. In addition, its luxury hotel has won international awards. The demand to participate in the tournament was so high that registrations were sold out two weeks in advance.
A tournament with great experiences
The players enjoyed an exceptional round, accompanied by a high-class cocktail, courtesy of San Miguel and Solán de Cabras. The experience started from the parking lot, where the club staff picked up the clubs and prepared them in the customized buggies.
The tournament began at 9:30 a.m. with a shotgun start, after the delivery of the welcome packs that included personalized gloves with a circuit marker. Players participated in the prize draw, including a golf trip to the Dominican Republic, courtesy of Air Europa.

Two special ball closer to flag awards offered gastronomic experiences in exclusive restaurants in Marbella:
- Hole 10: Winner MANITA CHOEYCHAZYAPHUM – Dinner at Roostiq.
- Hole 17: Winner FRANCISCO JOSÉ PÉREZ MARTÍN – Dinner at Dolce Vita (Hotel Occidental Puerto Banús).

The winners were awarded golf apparel from Fairway + Blue (Puerto Banús) and secured their place in the Final on September 20 at San Roque Golf & Resort. The top finishers will receive a golf trip to the Dominican Republic as a prize, with a stay at the Hyatt Sunscape Coco Punta Cana and play at courses such as Casa de Campo.
Costa del Sol Ranking and additional prizes
Players also accumulate points in the Costa del Sol Ranking:
- 2nd classified: 12 points
- 3rd classified: 10 points
- 4th place: 8 points
- 5th to 10th place: 2 points
- Other participants: 1 point
In addition, an extra trip will be raffled among all players registered in the SUMA Air Europa loyalty program, along with a SUMA Gold Card.
