It might seem like a fairy tale, Chinese by the way, but no: the legendary Gary Player faced a 2.29-meter gypsy during a tournament in Mission Hills. Of course, the confrontation was peaceful and, above all, photographic. The legendary South African golfer and China’s Yao Ming, former NBA player, are two of the celebrities who took part in the Mission Hills World Celebrity Pro-Am at the Chinese golf resort Mission Hills Haikou.
Also at the event were actor Michael Douglas, NBA superstar Allen Iverson, English soccer veteran Robbie Fowler, golfers Paula Creamer and Suzann Petterson, and the ever-controversial John Daly, among others.
Nine elite golfers competed over two rounds in a tournament with $1 million in prize money, of which $250,000 went to the winner.
