Absolute success in the opening tournament-party of the sixth season of the Gecko Tour. More than thirty players gathered at the Dama de Noche course in Malaga to play a nine-hole night tournament, with illuminated balls and a final party that included food, drinks and a live DJ. A very fun and special evening of golf.
The victory went to Juan Martín Olivera, a 23-year-old Argentine professional who proved to be the true king of the night with a round of 28 strokes. A splendid result that allowed him to win the tournament with a one stroke lead over Noemí Jiménez, Michael Dart and Mike Bedford. The three finished tied for second place.
The professionals really enjoyed the experience, had a great time and even knew how to play their best golf with a type of ball that they are not exactly used to, with a flashing red light so that they could be seen well at night.
At the end of the tournament, a moment of relaxation. The players took the opportunity to comment on the day to the rhythm of the music. A magnificent space to strengthen the relationships of all those who make up the Gecko Tour and the players themselves. Precisely, after the tournament, the new owners of the best winter circuit in Europe, Ken Lingwood and Katherine Wells, took the opportunity to welcome all the golfers and wish them a season full of success. The tournament at Dama de Noche was sponsored by Black Tower and in collaboration with Spectrum FM.
The next appointment of the Gecko will be today and tomorrow with the second regular tournament of the season that will take place at the Marbella Golf & Country Club course. The first round of this circuit was played at La Cañada and was won by the Swede Andreas Andersson.
