Golfriend’s, golf stores of reference on the Costa del Sol

It lives up to its name and also treats its friends/customers very well. The success of Golfriend’s, which has several establishments on the Costa del Sol, is due to the variety of products, good prices and the service provided to the golfer.

“The first store (between Estepona and Marbella, next to the highway) we opened in 1999, four years ago we reformed it and expanded it a little bit, and now we have grown quite a bit,” explains the owner of Golfriend’s, Antonio Valle. “We have acquired several stores, among them is the one in Atalaya, we have made an agreement with Golfino, so we are in Sotogrande and San Pedro Alcántara, and we also have a small store in Magna Marbella,” he adds.

-What is the reason for Golfriend’s success, how does it differ from the competition?

-We always try to provide good service, offer a wide variety of products and work well with each brand we have.

-What do customers look for most: price, quality, a good combination of both?

-The first thing he looks for is price, but apart from price he values service, and we always try to find a balance between service and a good price.

-What are the best sellers in Golfriend’s stores?

-We are specialists in hard equipment, so we sell quite a lot of golf clubs. The thing is that when we refurbished the main store we also made a big bet on quality clothing, which is selling well.

-In the fifteen years that you have been established on the Costa del Sol, what changes have you noticed in terms of Golfriends’ clientele?

-Unfortunately, we have noticed that the Spanish market has dropped quite a bit, but foreign tourism has increased. We have clients from all over Europe, and also Asian, American… Tourism, thank God, is helping us a lot.

-Is it the tourist who buys the most or the golfer who resides in the area?

-Tourists.

-Do you find better prices here than in your home countries?

-Yes, they take advantage of the offer we have, the exchange rate, I don’t know…, but lately what we have noticed is that we depend a lot on tourism.
