H19 Restaurant at Santa María Golf, first host of Marbella All Stars 2017

The H19 Restaurant of the Santa María Golf Club will be the first host of the thirty prestigious Andalusian chefs who will participate in the gastronomic gala Marbella All Stars, on May 22 and 23. This golf club in Marbella will host a golf baptism so that the chefs who do not know it can be introduced to this sport.

This event at H19, which flies over holes 1 and 18 of Santa María Golf, is part of the activities that the club is celebrating throughout the year on the occasion of its twenty-fifth anniversary.

The restaurant will offer the Andalusian chefs a tasting. H19’s manager and chef, Seyni Gueye Dia, explains what it will consist of: “We are going to offer them ten cold canapés, ten hot ones and some dessert miniatures.” These are all creations specifically created for this event.   “For us,” he says, “it’s a challenge and we want to show them that, although we are a humble restaurant, we also know how to do things very well.”

D. Seyni, who arrived from his native Senegal to Spain twelve years ago and has been managing the restaurant at Santa María Golf for the past nine years,  explains that H19’s cuisine is based on fresh local products, both from the sea and the land, prepared on the spot. “We work with the highest quality that the market offers us,” he emphasizes.

“We work with the highest quality that the market offers us,” he emphasizes.

“Here we have both international and traditional Andalusian cuisine to enjoy at leisure and, of course, delicious wraps and club sandwiches for golfers who come in a hurry. Our customers always leave happy,” he says. The weekly barbecues are also very well received and are enlivened by a live musical performance.

One of the tasty dishes that chef Seyni recommends at this time of the year is a Cordovan salmorejo with a very personal touch, which he prefers to keep secret and reveal only to those who taste it. “I’m sure you’ll be surprised,” he predicts. He also highlights the exquisiteness of charcoal-grilled meats and grilled fish.

Although most of the diners are golfers who play at Santa María Golf, there are more and more clients who do not practice this sport and who, mainly, reside in the urbanizations that exist in the surroundings of the club, in the area of Elviria. “We are a restaurant open to everyone,” emphasizes its manager.

H19 is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, Monday through Sunday.
