Unbelievable but true: he makes a hole-in-one with a putter! According to Golf Monthly , Andrew Easdale, 62, recorded a hole-in-one this summer at the cam Short Course in Trevose, France, using that putter.
“I could say that on links-type courses one should stay low when playing close to the green and that, as the conditions were dry and the course was fast, the putter seemed the best option,” Easdale told Golf Monthly. “But that’s hindsight. justification for what at the time was just an impulsive act by a very frustrated golfer,” he added.
And that’s because at the time Easdale was undergoing cancer treatment and it was the first round of play in months since he began his battle with the disease. Plus his mother had passed away a few days earlier and he was at Trevose to scatter her ashes.
Easdale admitted he was tempted to give up golf, “because I know I can’t get any better at it.” However, his amazing hole-in-one made him change his attitude about the sport.
