Hotel Valle del Este is nestled in a privileged location in the Almeria municipality of Vera, surrounded by an 18-hole golf course and just five kilometers from the sea. Built in 2004 and renovated in 2014, this four-star hotel offers 130 spacious double rooms and 12 suites. Half of the rooms face east (holes 10-18) and half face west (holes 1-9). In this way, you can choose between contemplating the sunrises or the luminous sunsets of this part of Andalusia and always with views of the golf course. Likewise, from the terraces of the east-facing rooms, which overlook the second nine holes, you can contemplate the Mediterranean Sea in the background.
The hotel manager, Antonio Torralbo, explains some aspects of the establishment.
-What are the main attractions of this hotel to attract golfers?
-Starting from the fact that it is a hotel for golfers, it has the particularity that the client is going to find a different golf course, not a golf course as people are used to, but a desert type course with the peculiarity that its tees are separated from the fairway by a part of the desert of Almería and he is going to find a very different course from what he is used to, mainly because of that, and also because of the orography, because it is a course with many ups and downs, with many holes different from each other. Here it is true that all the clubs are used. And you are going to find a very welcoming hotel, very familiar, with a staff very focused on the customer. We are proud of our staff. They are young people and here the tourist will find an attitude like the one he found in the 60’s when he came to Spain, a virgin staff, with a lot of enthusiasm, with a lot of illusion, a staff that is not yet burned by the hard side that is working in the hotel business. And I, as director, am delighted to see that attention to the customer.
-What can you tell us about the location of the hotel?
-It is located in a very quiet area, in a kind of oasis in Almeria. When people enter the province of Almeria they find that they start to lose the green color of the landscape, which becomes lighter, they start to see brown, they start to see desert, and when they arrive at Valle del Este they find an oasis. It is a shocking sensation, especially for those who come from abroad, that they find an oasis. And then you find yourself in a hotel that transmits tranquility because of the location and the environment. Here when you wake up and see the views, the beach of Vera, Garrucha, Sierra Cabrera in the background, the golf course, the huge swimming pool…, you see things differently. We also have a lot of square meters per client, and that also contributes to the feeling of tranquility throughout the hotel.
Gastronomic variety is also important for our hotel, as we take care of our cuisine and offer more than other golf hotels.
-Wellness, the wellbeing of guests, is another of the hotel’s strengths…
-We have a very complete spa, with many treatments and with splendid views of the golf course and the beach in the background.
-Another advantage of the hotel is that there is a shopping mall just a few meters away…
-Yes, we also have a small shopping center right next to the hotel, with a typical Spanish restaurant, an English pub with karaoke, another pub, a supermarket… It is a good complement to the hotel, a leisure alternative. For example, groups of golfers are interested in having a place near the hotel, a few steps away, to have a few drinks and have a good time without going wild, because the next day you have to play and excesses are paid for. It is an alternative for example to Mojacar, where you need to go by car.
