The Masters, the first major of the season, doesn’t start until April 6, but betting fans have already put their money to work ahead of the famous tournament to be played at Augusta National. According to bookmaker Sportsbook, 2015 winner Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy, who needs to win that tournament to join the five players who have so far won all four legs of the Grand Slam, are the favorites at the moment, and their victories would pay 15 to 2.
Jason Jones (8/1), reigning US Open champion Dustin Johnson (9/1), Hideki Matsuyama (13/1), Justin Thomas (15/1), Adam Scott (20/1), who in 2013 became the first Australian to win a green jacket, two-time Masters winner (2012 and 2014) titleholder Bubba Watson (20/1), and Olympic champion Justin Rose (20/1) follow Spieth and McIlroy in the bettors’ preference rankings.
And Tigerr in search of his fifth Masters? He appears next in the ranking and his triumph would bring the bettor 22 times the risk. Woods is ahead of reigning British Open champion Henrik Stenson, three-time Masters winner Phil Mickelson (29/1), Rickie Fowler (30/1) and Patrick Reed (35/1), the latter two still seeking their first Grand Slam title. Jon Rahm is close behind at 40/1 after his sensational win at Farmers Insurance last weekend. Defending champion Danny Willett languishes on the list (65/1). The best-placed Spaniard among bettors so far is Sergio Garcia, whose win would pay 55/1.
