The great show is served at Valderrama thanks to the LIV Golf Andalucia. With 18 holes to go, Bryson DeChambeau, winner of the 2020 US Open, leads the standings with 9 under par after an extraordinary round of -8. Second in the standings, with -8, is Talor Gooch and third place, with -6, belongs to Brooks Koepka, winner of five majors and reigning champion of the US PGA Championship. Both made -6 today.
In fourth place, with -4, is Dustin Johnson, winner of two majors and former world number one, who today had to settle for par on the course.
The four of them, who hold eight of the twenty-five majors that are computed among the players competing at Valderrama, are the most likely to win the tournament and the 4 million dollars that comes with the individual triumph (there are also 3 million dollars to be shared among the four members of the winning team).
Colombian Sebastián Muñoz is fifth and will also be fighting for a place at the top of the leaderboard, after having signed today -3 and the day before, the par of the course.
David Puig has meritoriously moved up to sixth place (-2) after carding a -3 today, with five birdies and one bogey. He is tied with Thomas Pieters and Ian Poulter.
Sergio Garcia, the 2017 Augusta Masters champion, failed to meet the challenge of Valderrama today and after parring the course (four bogeys and four birdies), he is in ninth place, with -1, tied among others with Cameron Smith, last year’s British Open winner.
The third Spaniard in play on the splendid Valderrama course, Eugenio López-Chacarra, totaled +4 after having made +1 today, and is thirty-second in the standings.
The team standings are led by RangeGoats, formed by Gooch, Pieters and Watson, followed by the Crushers, of DeChambeau, Casey and Howell III, and Torque, formed by Puig, Muñoz and Pereira.
