La Reserva Club, one of the jewels in Sotogrande’s crown

La Reserva Club is arguably the best golf option in the Sotogrande region and is considered a must for any golfer visiting the area. Opened in 2003, the renowned 18-hole, 7,400-yard course was designed by Cabell B. Robinson and immediately became a firm favorite for golfers from around the world.

The fairways are wide with gentle slopes leading to large but undulating greens, making it a challenge for the player. Water hazards on seven of the holes provide subtle pressure from tee to green, particularly on hole 6, a 244-yard par 3. The first 9 holes are a challenge for the player, particularly hole 7, a short 159-yard par 3 that plays from an elevated tee to a shallow, well-defended green.

Built into the hillside, the clubhouse is located in a privileged position, in what is known as Sotogrande Alto, offering breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, the Rock of Gibraltar and the mountains of La Gran Reserva and Sierra Almenara. It is not only golf that is offered at La Reserva Club. The 1,154-hectare area that makes up La Reserva, at the highest point of Sotogrande, will be the next chapter in the history of this illustrious destination.

La Reserva Club is evolving into one of the finest private clubs in Southern Europe, with an extensive spa, swimming and water sports lagoons, beach clubs and restaurants to complement the existing facilities. New clay tennis courts were inaugurated last year, and new paddle tennis courts will open soon.

With La Reserva Club, a new residential community is underway. One of these communities will be located at the top of La Reserva, a project of seven villas designed by seven of the world’s best architects, ranging from Brazil to Norway, nestled perfectly in a garden designed by Jean Mus & Compagnie.

The region has a rich heritage and varied terrain that makes it an ideal destination for golfers and non-golfers alike. This Easter, La Reserva Club is offering a full calendar of activities for visitors, including sailing, horseback riding, yoga classes, children’s camp and a baking workshop. In addition, all visitors to the club will soon be able to enjoy the exclusive attention of a “Guest Relations” who will be there to make sure everything is perfect.

Visitors and members can also enjoy La Reserva’s newly renovated clubhouse and restaurant L’Olive. With its new menu, L’Olive offers delicious seasonal specialties throughout the year and invites visitors to enjoy theme nights, Sunday roasts and brunches during their visit to La Reserva Club.

A “Play and Dine” offer is available to golfers throughout 2017 and offers players the opportunity to enjoy a round at La Reserva Club from 1 p.m. and end their day with a pleasant evening at L’Olive restaurant for 185 euros per person with green fee, buggy rental, balls and dinner included.
