Two British golfers fine-tuning their games in Marbella were both delighted last week to secure their first wins as professionals.

Competing on The Gecko Tour, 24-year-old Englishman Steven Jones won at Marbella Country Club, beating Swede Fredrik From on the first play-off hole; while Scotland’s Fraser Moore (26) required two extra holes to defeat Blayne Breheny (England) and Tommy O'Driscoll (Ireland) at The Westin La Quinta course.

“I decided to play on the Gecko,” said Jones, “because my trainer told me about it where I used to play, and the truth is he was spot on. It’s the best tour to play and train on during the winter. I wouldn’t be able to play now where I live.”
