Lauro Golf hosts this week the Santander Golf Tour

This morning took place before the media the presentation of the second round of this edition of the Santander Golf Tour at Lauro Golf in Malaga. The presentation was attended by Eduardo de Wint, director of Private Banking in Malaga, Carlos Pitarch, president of Lauro Golf, Miguel Navarro, manager of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and Inigo Aramburu, director of the Santander Golf Tour circuit and general director of Sport & Business.

Carlos Pitarch, manager of Lauro Golf, assured to be working in the right direction to make women’s golf grow: “Women’s golf represents 29% of the golfing population and this has to be fixed. This is done with tournaments and with the best professionals. We are working on integral sports management with children and professionals, that is where the future lies. We have unfinished business in women’s golf and the best way to solve it is with high-level competitions.

For his part, Eduardo de Wint, Director of Private Banking in Malaga, thanked all the guests and the organizers for their presence: “On behalf of Banco Santander, thank you very much to this wonderful course, thank you for hosting us, and especially to the Andalusian Federation. From Santander we are delighted to support women’s sports and in this case golf. We would also like to thank all the girls who will accompany us tomorrow together with our clients in the Pro-Am. Tomorrow the weather will be with us and everything will go quite well”.
Miguel Navarro, manager of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, thanked all those present for their confidence: “I start by saying thank you. We have many reasons. To Lauro Golf because it always welcomes us in first level events. To Banco Santander for supporting women’s sport. And then to Deporte and Business, to Iñigo and Alicia for supporting and taking these tournaments to the first level. Apart from these, we have two other great tournaments of the Ladies European Tour that we have in Andalusia. Congratulations for the participation, which is a record, and this means that the Costa del Sol is an attractive place for tourists and professional players”.
Íñigo Aramburu, director of the circuit and general director of Deporte & Business, thanked the course for its magnificent welcome and professionalism, “Thank you for your confidence in Deporte and Business. Last year the course went very well, but this year it will go a little better. It is one of the best in Spain, it is excellently prepared. That is why it is a privilege to start here, it is the course we liked the most last year. We want you to tell everything that is happening and above all the Santander Bank’s effort to make the girls reach the big circuits”.
He also recalled that the PRO AM day will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, and that during Thursday and Friday, the fifty-three registered will compete for this tournament in Malaga.

Lauro Golf
The Lauro Golf course was designed by Folco Nardi. The course has 27 holes, combinable nine by nine, all par 72. The tournament will be held from 1 to 18.
From the beginning the design of the complex is based on respect for the environment and the nature that surrounds us, not only safeguarding the life of each and every one of the pre-existing century-old oaks, but also with the planting of thousands of young trees, most of them native to Andalusia.
Lauro Golf is brimming with nature. Throughout the complex there is constant contact with nature, whether playing golf, living in the residential complex or simply enjoying a stroll through the surroundings, we can see that we are not the only visitors to Lauro Golf. Rabbits, ducks, partridges, herons and even eagles will accompany us for much of the journey, as they have decided to be our neighbors benefiting from the micro-climate created by the large number of trees and the fourteen lakes of the golf course.

The Circuit
The Santander Golf Tour is a firm commitment of Banco Santander for professional women’s golf and has the support of Santander Private Banking, Carmignac, and Santander Asset Management. Orange and Kyocera are technology partners of the circuit while Wilson Golf and Holiday Golf are preferred suppliers. Estrella Damm is the official beer and Fuente Liviana the official water of the event.
In addition, the Royal Spanish Golf Federation and the Andalusian Golf Federation, along with the rest of the regional federations support the circuit. It also has the support of the LET Access Series, which awards 3 cards and sponsors the final prize to the winner of the Ranking.

Tee-off times: Thursday 11 and Friday 12, from 8:45 to 11:30 a.m. on the 1st tee.
Awards ceremony: Friday 12 at 4:30 p.m., at the end of the competition.
