Lilja wins the Spanish Men’s Pitch & Putt Championship again

Leonardo Axel Lilja Moyano has confirmed his supremacy in the national Pitch & Putt scene with his second consecutive victory in the Spanish Men’s Championship of this golf specialty. The tournament, held over two days at the Anfi Tauro course in the Canary Islands, began in an unbeatable way for our players, taking the first three places in the provisional classification.

Thus, at the end of the first 18 holes, Leonardo Lilja took the lead thanks to an excellent round of 50 strokes (4 under par), including a hole-in-one on the 5th.

Next, one stroke behind, finished Antonio Pimentel, and in third position, tied at 52 strokes were José Luis López Bautista and Rafael Santoja Hernández from Madrid.

On the second and final day, Leonardo Lilja signed another card under par (-1) to certify his victory and proclaim himself two-time Spanish Pitch & Putt champion.

Second place, 3 strokes behind the winner, went to local golfer Bernabé González Alonso, and third place went to Juan Pedro Monjo Bossi, equal at 108 strokes with José Luis López from Cadiz.

Another Andalusian, Antonio Pimentel from Malaga, also finished in the top ten with a total of 109 strokes.

It should be recalled that these three players along with Pedro Rodríguez Cielos, José López Moncayo and Pablo Carrascosa Vivas have participated in this event subsidized by the Pitch & Putt Committee of the RFGA for occupying the top positions in the Andalusian Ranking.

With Leonardo Lilja’s brilliant double, the Andalusian Pitch & Putt accumulates four consecutive titles in this competition after the two victories of Marcos Pastor Rufián from Córdoba in the 2010 and 2011 editions.
