In the lead-up to the highly anticipated LIV Golf tournament in Spain, LIV Golf and the Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte de la Junta de Andalucía announced today a multi-year agreement through which the event will bear the name “LIV Golf Andalucía”. Under the terms of the agreement, “Andalucía” will become the “Official Destination Partner” of LIV Golf Andalucía.
The tournament, which will take place at the iconic Real Club Valderrama from June 30 to July 2, is the first LIV Golf event to be played in continental Europe. As a world-renowned sports and cultural destination, Andalusia received 32.5 million tourists last year and counts golf tourism as a key pillar in attracting visitors to the region. Through this agreement, Andalusia reinforces its commitment to bringing world-class events to fans and tourists to this iconic destination.
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, Arturo Bernal, highlighted that: “the region is once again the center of attention for golf at a global level, with this tournament that brings together the best players of this sport in the premium golf destination of southern Europe”. Bernal underlined the potential of the golf industry in the community, “with more than a hundred courses that receive travelers from all over the world and a wide and diverse complementary offer, with an unparalleled combination of culture, gastronomy, climate, nature and emblematic cities”.
The collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Regional Government of Andalusia and this tournament -with the co-financing of European Funds- is part of the strategy to attract major sporting events and golf to the destination, and will be accompanied by the promotion of the Andalusia brand in other events of the LIV Golf league around the world.

The innovative LIV Golf league features 13 Major champions, totaling 25 victories, including reigning PGA Championship and five-time Major champion Brooks Koepka; reigning Open champion Cameron Smith; six-time Major winner and World Golf Hall of Fame inductee Phil Mickelson; two-time Major winners Dustin Johnson and Bubba Watson; and 2017 Masters champion and Spanish legend Sergio Garcia. They are also joined by the talents of Spaniards Eugenio Chacarra and David Puig, who are making their professional debut in their home country.
Real Club Valderrama, considered one of the best golf courses in Europe, enjoys an important golfing history and has hosted some of the greatest events in the sport, including the Ryder Cup in 1997. Mickelson and former world number one Lee Westwood, who competed for their countries more than 25 years ago, return to the same venue where that famous tournament was held, this time with LIV Golf, in a spectacular event that includes individual and team competitions and kicks off shotgun with an atmosphere full of energy, family entertainment and excitement for all ages.
Course access passes for LIV Golf Andalucía start at €42 per day and include all fan activities held at the tournament venue.
