
Five golfing greats will be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame and Museum in Florida in 2017. Henry Longhurst, Davis Love III, Meg Mallon, Lorena Ochoa and Ian Woosnam will be formally enshrined at the induction ceremony next September.
Briton Longhurst was a weekly columnist for the Sunday Times of London for 40 years and also worked for the BBC from the 1950s until his death in 1978; American Meg Mallon won 18 LPGA titles and four majors during her successful career; Davis Love III (USA) has scored 22 victories including the 1997 PGA Championship and has been the captain of this year’s Ryder Cup team; Mexico’s former world number one Lorena Ochoa finished with 27 victories on the U.S. Women’s Tour, including two majors; and Welshman Ian Woosnam won the 1991 U.S. Masters and led the World Ranking for 50 weeks between 1991 and 1992.
