Los Arqueros, one of the golf courses on the Costa del Sol that is most concerned about the quality/price ratio, has carried out some maintenance works for the new season that place this club among the elite of the best cared for in the area. And that is something that its players know and appreciate.
“Actually,” says Ulf, its director, “what we have done is to repeat what we did last winter, which worked perfectly: we are once again maintaining a very good and competitive price, while simultaneously investing more money in maintenance.
We do things,” he continues, “that only high quality fields do, and that many others do not do that are considered to be of a higher level than us, due to the economic situation or whatever”.
Ulf explains that “we have re-seeded all the streets, in which we have invested fourteen thousand kilos of seeds, some seven hundred and forty tons of sand, something like fifty tub trucks, and nine thousand kilos of fertilizer”.
“All this,” concludes the director of Los Arqueros, “to bring the course to one hundred percent this fall/winter. Today I went for a walk, after the rains at the end of September, and I found it impressive. And it is going to get even better”.
Los Arqueros is located only 5 kilometers from San Pedro de Alcántara on the Ronda road and also with access from the Benahavís road.
In recent years, efforts have been made to make it one of the first courses in Spain to be awarded the Environmental (ISO 14.001), Health and Safety (OHSAS 18.001) and Golf Quality certificates.
Los Arqueros, par 71 and with a distance of 5,729 m., offers a challenging course that can be enjoyed by all types of players from the highest to the lowest handicaps. The key to a good game lies in accuracy and direction, rather than distance. The variation of the holes set in the middle of the native nature, its three lakes, the great condition of the course and its greens, as well as the unbeatable views of the Mediterranean and the Ronda mountains, make a visit to Los Arqueros an unforgettable experience.
