Los Lagos, one of the two splendid courses designed by the legendary Robert Trent Jones in the club Mijas Golfwas once again the brilliant setting for the Andalucía Golf Challenge Circuitwhich this year celebrates its tenth edition and has as its grand finale award five trips to the Dominican Republic The week-long program includes flights, transfers, five-star all-inclusive hotel and golf at three of the best courses in the Caribbean: Ocean’s 4, Teeth of The Dog and Punta Espada. This spectacular course where water plays a very prominent role is one of the most visited on the Costa del Sol, which gives an idea of its quality and excellent reception among golfers, both Spanish and foreign.
The tournament, tenth of the sixteen that make up the Tour calendar this year, registered a very high sporting level and brought together many very low handicaps. The course was in extraordinary conditions, and this was appreciated and celebrated by the players.
As in the two previous editions, this open amateur circuit organized by the magazine Andalucía Golf/España Golf has five trips to the Caribbean by Grupo Piñero as a prize for the final. Apart from the prizes of each tournament (premium branded clothing from the Fairway+Blue store in Puerto Banús, D.O. Somontano wines, Holiday Golf sports equipment , etc.), the first three classified in each category plus the scratch winner of each tournament get a place to play the grand final of the Circuit (Atalaya Old, November 21) and thus opt for one of the five trips to the Dominican Republic for a week.
In terms of sporting results, in the first category the first three classified were David Gavira Jurado (43 points), Francisco Cuevas González (38) and Óscar Rodríguez Higuera (38).
The first three in the second category were the following: Antonio Fernández Martín (43 points), Álvaro Fernández Molina (40) and Jaime Sepúlveda Jiménez (39). Anecdotally, the winner of the second category enjoyed the trip to the Caribbean last year, in that case to the Riviera Maya, but then he paid for the vacation package with limited places that was organized for those who wanted to join the trip and enjoy the same experience as the five winners of the grand finale of the Circuit. This time Antonio Fernandez is going to try to get one of the trips for the winners in the final on November 21 at Atalaya Old Course.
The scratch winner in Los Lagos was Gonzalo García Parada, with 40 scratch points.
As for special awards, the closest ball to the flag went to Alejandro Carrere Lobera, and thelongest driveto Eva Nebot and Miguel Pérez Cruz..

The top three in each category plus the scratch winner qualify for the Grand Final, where five one-week all-inclusive trips to the Playa Nueva Romana resort of Bahía Príncipe in the Dominican Republic with golf at Ocean’s 4, Punta Espada and Teeth of The Dog will be decided. The top two finishers in each category and the scratch winner of the Grand Final will travel to the Dominican Republic.
