Luna Sobrón wins the American Tour card

The Pro Spain Team player Luna Sobrón has become a new player of the American Women’s Tour, the LPGA Tour, after overcoming with great brilliance the Final of the Qualifying School, in which she finished in fifth position. In this way, she joins the select club where the best golfers in the world play.

The Mallorcan has signed a great tournament at the LPGA International Golf Drive course in Daytona Beach (Florida). Her rounds of 73, 70, 69, 72 and 69 strokes for a total of -7 reflect what has been a spectacular trajectory, going from strength to strength and without letting her nerves get the better of her.

Luna Sobrón -winner of two LET Access Series tournaments and two Santander Tour tournaments- was the best European golfer of the tournament, ahead of names such as England’s Georgia Hall (-6).

Also meritorious was the performance of the Cantabrian Harang Lee, who qualified in 45th place with +2 and won one of the conditional cards that were at stake. The Cantabrian, by the fact of having passed the cut, was assured the Symetra Tour card, but with a round of 70 strokes she has taken an important step forward that will allow her to play LPGA tournaments in 2018.

In the case of Harang Lee, it was crucial to holing a great 12-meter putt on the 18th hole of the last day.

This same conditional card has also been for the Spanish-German Leticia Ras-Anderica (T23, -1), a player based in Alicante.

Out of the cut established on the fourth day were the Balearic Nuria Iturrios (+5) and Marta Sanz (+9).

Luna Sobrón will join LPGA Tour veterans Carlota Ciganda, Azahara Muñoz, Beatriz Recari and Belén Mozo in the 2018 season.
