
The Balearic Men’s Cup 2015 ended yesterday in Pula Golf with excellent results for the Andalusian representatives, who showed a very high level of play from the first day of the competition.
The player from the town of Casares in Malaga, Mario Galiano, won in the absolute category, after signing a card of 75 strokes for a total of 208 (-8), and 5 strokes ahead of the Asturian Iván Cantero, who was in second place.
The player from Cadiz began the first round co-leading with the Irishman Kevin Leblanc, after delivering both 69 strokes. On Saturday he signed a brilliant round of 64 strokes that placed him leader alone and 9 strokes ahead of the Czech federated by Andalusia, Matyas Zapletal who, finally, yesterday finished in third place after matching the par of the course with 216 strokes.
On the other hand, the player of San Roque Club, Victor Bjorlow -fifth in the absolute classification- has been proclaimed Champion in Boy Category, with a cumulative total of 221 strokes, and the player of Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, Gonzalo Leal, won in Cadet Category with 225 strokes.
In total, six Andalusians were among the top ten in the final classification. Fourth place, with 219 strokes (+3), went to the Englishman -federate of San Roque Club- Joseph Lamb.
With two more strokes, the fifth position went to the aforementioned Víctor Bjorlow and, behind him -with a total of 222 strokes and tied in sixth position with the Basque Xabier Gorospe- finished the Malaga player from El Candado, Gonzalo García Parada, who, with rounds of 71, 75 and 76 strokes, remained among the top positions of the classification since the first day.
Meanwhile, Pablo Rodríguez-Tabernero, from Real Club de Golf de Sevilla, signed a total of 223 strokes.
