Miraflores triumphs at the Mijas Sun & Golf Circuit

The attractive Miraflores course has successfully hosted the second round of the Mijas Sun & Golf Circuit. Sponsored by the Mijas Town Hall in an initiative of the Mijas Golf Courses Association, this first edition of the Circuit consists of five tournaments plus a final, to be played on August 24 at Mijas Golf Los Lagos, which will be followed by a gala dinner at the hotel La Zambra.

The best classified in Miraflores get a place to play the final, where the prizes of seven vouchers to play for a whole year the courses of the Circuit, which apart from Miraflores and Mijas Golf are Chaparral, La Cala, La Noria and Cerrado del Águila, will be decided.

Another particularity of the Circuit is the support given to women’s golf, so that a special ladies’ category is established, giving access to the final to the two best classified in the special ladies’ category that are not in the general prizes. The same is done for the best players, establishing a special scratch prize.

In this way, nine players in each tournament are those who qualify for the grand final on Saturday, August 24. The Mijas Sun & Golf Circuit has as another hallmark the fact that the qualifying rounds are played on alternate Fridays during the summer months, becoming a very pleasant event and the best way to start a weekend.

The Miraflores tournament took place with splendid weather, the course in excellent condition and a very fluid pace of play.

The event was supported by San Miguel beers, with beer prizes on all par 3’s of the course for closer ball. Cocktail

The awards ceremony was attended by Juan Carlos Cuevas Dawson, councilman of the Mijas City Council, and Juan Carlos Acebedo, technician of the City Council.
