
More than 200 players have participated in the pro-ams prior to the Women’s Open of Spain that have taken place yesterday and today at the Aloha Golf Club. Among the participants was a large group of national journalists who participated in a press trip organized by Turismo Costa del Sol, such as Opengolf.com, Radio Marca, RTVE, Movistar Plus Golf, Ladies in Golf Magazine, La Liga4 Sport, La Radio del Golf, Periodigolf and Tele5.
The CEO of Turismo Costa del Sol, Margarita del Cid, held a meeting with the media and said that “for the entity is very positive to organize actions of this type by the great media impact that this will produce in the destination”.
Margarita del Cild has insisted on the commitment of the entity in the organization of these familiarization trips with journalists and bloggers, since “these press trip become an indispensable tool to sell Malaga and the Costa del Sol at national and international level”, while adding that “achieving a good reputation and maintaining it is the main premise that a destination must have to remain in the front line”.
These media actions, making known the Costa del Sol destination to professionals from around the world, are sometimes carried out in collaboration with different administrations among which are Turespaña, Andalusian Tourism and the various municipalities of the province. In others only attend these journalists and bloggers with their own resources, but “always thanks to the co-responsibility of employers in the tourism sector costasoleño, without which these promotions would not be feasible,” added Del Cid.
Turismo Costa del Sol is convinced, according to the CEO of Turismo Costa del Sol, “of the need to reinforce the intense promotional and marketing work of the different departments and business areas of Turismo y Planificación Costa del Sol with the support of an efficient Communication Action, which thus joins the strategies of the promotional entity”.
According to Del Cid, “it is vital to achieve a broad presence in the national and international media, trying to ensure that it is positive and achieving a response from the most important opinion leaders in the world with the aim of strengthening the brand”.
“Achieving a good reputation and maintaining it is the main premise that a destination must have to remain at the forefront. The value and impact of a positive assessment of our destination by the main national and international opinion leaders is priceless,” said Margarita del Cid.
The Costa del Golf is showing during this week all its potential with numerous events that are placing it in the spotlight of all national and international spotlights.
Thus, from 25 to 27 November is being held the X National Congress of the Spanish Association of Golf Managers in the Parador Malaga Golf, a congress in which was present the head of the entity, who stressed that the event “has been an excellent opportunity to return to put Malaga in the center of all eyes. Especially because we have the opportunity to show in situ the excellent facilities, locations and benefits of our destination for the practice of golf.
Del Cid has especially stressed that “our main objective is to consolidate the Costa del Sol as a high-level destination reinforcing its image and prestige, to further reduce seasonality. And events like these undoubtedly contribute to this”.
And the highlight will come at the weekend with the 2019 Spanish Women’s Open, which takes place from November 28 to December 1 at Aloha Golf. The Costa del Sol will host this international event for the fourth consecutive year and six times in total. The tournament is part of the European Ladies Golf circuit, which is held on 5 continents, with 23 tournaments, in 18 countries and uniting 325 professionals of 42 different nationalities. The coverage given to this renowned event reaches 500 million households, providing coverage in 148 countries.
The entity is once again making a major effort in the golf segment during this final stretch of the year. Of the twenty actions programmed to promote the destination, the majority and the most important are those aimed at golf, to make the Costa del Sol once again the epicenter of this sport and show all the strengths and the great potential of the Costa del Golf.
