Lumine Golf Club, recently voted ‘Europe’s Best Golf Venue’ (World Golf Awards 2019), is located 100km south of Barcelona on the Costa Dorada, Spain’s Golden Coast. Featuring three incredible golf courses, including two designed by World Golf Hall of Famer Greg Norman, Lumine provides the perfect blend of challenge and reward with exceptional sea views across the Mediterranean.
As part of a new strategic direction by the ownership group, Lumine have appointed a new Chief Business Officer, Agustin Garcia Pascual, who joins with a dedicated passion for golf and real estate having worked in the industry for over 20 years, including a 10-year spell at PGA Golf Catalunya. The resort will be undergoing a series of exciting projects in the coming years, elevating its position among the best places to visit across the world.
As part of Lumine’s strategy, an “eco-first” approach has been introduced to pursue an important objective, creating a more sustainable venue whilst helping to protect the environment and support local infrastructure. Measures in place have already removed 120,000 water bottles from the resort per annum. The resort is certified by a group of environmental agencies, including Golf Environment Organisation (GEO), Audubon International Gold Signature Sanctuary, Eco-Management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) and International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).
It has established itself as one of the most important wetlands in Catalonia, playing host to some of the rarest and most endangered animals in the country – including protected species such as the Spanish Tooth Carp (fish) , European and Leper Galapagos (turtle) and the Purple Gallinule (bird).
Lumine Golf Club is also the host venue for the European Tour’s Final Qualifying School Stage. It has hosted the final stage since 2017, having previously hosted the second stage of the competition on five occasions since 2012, and recently signed a new 3-year extension to continue hosting it until the end of 2022.
The club also boasts two fantastic clubhouses, the Lakes and the Hills, that showcase the most incredible views, as well as a Toptracer range that uses the same technology as that used on televised golf tournaments and now allows guests to compete against friends, play virtual courses, and receive instant shot feedback on interactive game screens.
For those looking to relax off the golf course, Lumine’s beach club, hidden within a pine forest and sat above Playa Larga, offers an authentic Mediterranean experience with its vast array of fantastic cuisines and unforgettable panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
Whether it’s walking in the pine forest, bathing in the infinity pools, or strolling pleasantly on the beach, it offers the perfect place to relax and unwind during the summer months. It is open this summer until September 13th.
