Nicklaus, McIlroy and Faldo donate items to help alleviate the effects of the coronavirus

Jack Nicklaus, Rory McIlroy and Nick Faldo are among the golf celebrities who have donated items for a major auction to raise money for coronavirus relief efforts.

The auction, called “Athletes for Covid-19 Relief,” includes items donated by more than 100 athletes from most major professional sports. Among them are seven well-known active and retired professional golfers.

The auction items cover the whole range of golf memorabilia. Fans of the sport have the opportunity to get their hands on a Players Championship logo flag signed by the Northern Irishman, a signed Nicklaus hat and glove, a Ryder Cup flag with Ian Poulter’s signature, a signed Masters flag and a putter used by Faldo. On the women’s side, LPGA Tour player Cristie Kerr donated a bag with her signature, and influencer Paige Spiranac donated a set of three personalized wedges.

This auction will be unique in that instead of outbidding other potential donors for an item, fans are asked to donate at least $25 for each product and then a winner will be chosen at random from the pool of donors.

Proceeds from the auction will go directly to the Center for Philanthropy’s Covid-19 Disaster Fund.
