Player bites off another player’s finger in golf club brawl

The round at Southers Marsh Golf Club in Pymouth, Massachusetts, ended ungentlemanly and with a 47-year-old man arrested and charged with assault. The victim was bitten on the thumb at the knuckle and was taken to the hospital for treatment. The severed piece of finger was collected at the scene of the incident and taken on ice to the hospital in an attempt to reattach it to the victim’s hand.
Police arrested a 47-year-old man on charges of mutilation after the incident, which occurred around dusk at the end of play and in the buggy area.. The golfer who was mutilated was taken to a hospital for treatment. The identity of the men was not disclosed by police, nor was the relationship between them.
Under Massachusetts lawthe crime of mutilation is defined as the malicious intent to mutilate or disfigure another person and is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
