RC Sevilla Golf will host a historic Challenge of Spain

It is the 25th edition of the Challenge of Spain, and it will be played next week at the Real Club Sevilla Golf, two reasons to bring together the best players of the year in Andalusia. The Challenge of Spain scores a full complement of winners in its 25th edition.

That the winner of the Challenge de España makes the jump to the DP World Tour, as has happened before, is an attraction to fight for the title in one of the oldest and most consolidated tournaments of the Challenge Tour. This has been the case in practically all these years with the players who have lifted the cup of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation for the Challenge of Spain, and therefore the seven winners of the year, and the top ten of the ranking of the Challenge Tour will travel to Seville to play this “talismanic” tournament.

The four winners of the tournaments held in February in South Africa have confirmed their participation: Welshman Rhys Enoch, Swede Mikael Lindberg, Frenchman David Ravetto and Swede Bjorn Akersson.

Also the winners of the tournaments held last March in India, the British John Parry and the Danish number 1 of the Challenge Tour Rasmus Neergaard-Pettersen (in the photo), who also won the last tournament played in the United Arab Emirates after the Abu Dhabi Challenge, won by the British Garrick Porteous.

Along with them, completing the list of the top 10 of the Challenge Tour Ranking are the Frenchman and winner of 5 DP World Tour tournaments Alexander Levy, and the British players David Horsey and Sam Hutsby, dreaming of a push to the Tour, a fact that the Dane Rasmus has in his hands if he gets a third victory, with which he would make the leap immediately.

It will undoubtedly be a great 25th edition of the Spanish Challenge, a tournament that has been played in nine Autonomous Communities throughout its history and that, for the fifth consecutive year, is being held in Andalusia, with players from 19 countries: Denmark, United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Germany, Ireland, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Slovenia, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Slovakia, South Africa and, of course, Spain.
