Calanova Golf Club has hosted a new round of the Andalusian Women’s Circuit 2016, in which 13 teams of 4 players each have participated.
The competition – which was played under individual Stableford handicap mode, scoring the three best rounds of each team – ended with a victory for the team formed by the players of Real Club de Golf Guadalmina, Ana Alcalde, Ana María García, Rosa María Sánchez and Guadalupe Valencia, who accumulated a total of 104 points.
Baviera Golf players Karin Ockerse, Jennifer Anne Tootell, Carol Pérez and María Fernández finished in second place with the same result.
Third place, with a total of 98 points, went to the team formed by the players of the Real Club de Campo de Córdoba, Asunción Moreno, María Carrere and Rocío García-Aranda, and the Zaudín Golf member, Concha Núñez.
After the competition, the awards ceremony was attended by Candelaria Flores, President of the Women’s Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation; Antonio Soler, director of Calanova Club de Golf; and Melania Escobar, also of Calanova Club de Golf.
It should be recalled that this Circuit is divided into two groups that play three qualifying rounds before reaching the grand final, which will be played at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina on June 7 and 8.
Thus, the Thursday group already visited the Santa Clara Granada course last month, where the team made up of the players from Bavaria, Carol Pérez, Karin Ockerse, Jennifer Anne Tootell and María Fernández -who today finished in second place, with the same result as the winners- won with a total of 114 points. After their stop today at Calanova, the Thursday group will play their third round at Sherry Golf Jerez.
For their part, the Saturday group players have already visited Nuevo Portil, and will hold their next tests on April 16 at the Real Club de Golf de Sevilla and in early May at Doña Julia.
Each of these qualifying rounds is played under the Individual Stableford Handicap modality, with the sum of the three best rounds of each team scoring.
The final at Real Club de Golf Guadalmina will be played over 36 holes in Stroke Play Individual Handicap.
