
Santa María Golf dazzles in the Andalucía Golf Challenge with a full house and 108 players

The last event of the San Miguel Andalucía Golf Challenge – Destino República Dominicana by Globalia once again demonstrated the passion for golf on the Costa del Sol. The chosen venue was the prestigious Santa María Golfin Marbella, which registered a full house with 108 players registered more than a week before the event.
With an impeccable organization, a course in excellent condition and an atmosphere of great camaraderie, this tournament became one of the highlights of the season.
A renovated field for a special event
Santa María Golf took advantage of the occasion to present the recently renovated greens of holes 3, 16 and 17, which were in practically perfect condition, as was the rest of the course.
The club is developing an ambitious annual greens renovation program, which is now in its final phase and whose results have been described as “excellent” by players and specialists. This allowed the participants to enjoy a course at the level of major international competitions.
Tournament kick-off and top-level golf atmosphere
The day began with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., which allowed all players to start the competition simultaneously, in a vibrant and competitive atmosphere.
After finishing the round, the participants gathered at the clubhouse to enjoy a meal prior to the awards ceremony and the prize drawing, two of the most awaited moments of the day.
A sweepstakes with a dream prize: a trip to the Dominican Republic

All the players filled in their cards with their personal data to participate in the draw for an unforgettable prize: to accompany the five absolute winners of the circuit on the final trip to the Dominican Republic, scheduled for the end of October.
This exclusive trip is one of the great attractions of the Andalucía Golf Challenge, as it combines golf on first class Caribbean courses with a unique tourist experience, courtesy of Globalia.
The awards ceremony was led by the club’s director, Pedro Batista, who thanked the players for their presence and highlighted the importance of Santa María Golf as a venue for major tournaments.
Prizes, gifts and an unforgettable closing ceremony
The winners were distinguished with trophies, in addition to receiving wines from the La Navarra Group and exclusive garments from the Fairway + Blue golf boutique.
The prize draw added even more excitement, with greenfees donated by Santa María Golf and bottles of wine offered by Hospital Recoletas Salud Marbella, which ensured that many players took away a special souvenir of the day.

- Zoltan Santa – 41 points (Qualified directly for the Final on September 20 at San Roque Golf & Resort, with dinner at the Hotel Occidental Puerto Banús).
- Javier García Alonso – 40 points (12 points for the Costa del Sol Ranking).
- Nicolas Meixner – 39 points (10 points for the Costa del Sol Ranking).
Second Category
- Jesús María Baras del Toral Martínez – 48 points (Qualified for the Final).
- Juan Azqueta Tames – 45 points (12 points for the Costa del Sol Ranking).
- Manuel Mengibar Pérez – 43 points (10 points for the Ranking Costa del Sol).
Scratch Winner
- David Carretero Castillo – 34 scratch points.
