The Grenadian Scott W. Fernández Salmón has joined the list of Andalusian players who have recently triumphed in the United States Collegiate League (NCAA) after winning the Furman Intercollegiate, a tournament played at the Furman University Golf Course (Greenville, South Carolina).
The Iowa State University golfer shot 209 strokes (7 under par) in three rounds of 69, 68 and 72. Scott W. Fernandez finished at the top of the leaderboard tied on strokes with Samford University’s Drew Aimone. The rules of the competition reflect the figure of co-leaders, so both players shared the victory.
With this victory, Andalusian golf adds its fourth success in the NCAA this season after the first place of Rocío Sánchez Lobato in the Seminole Match Up and the titles won by Noemí Jiménez Martín in the Cal Classic and Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.
