Sergio and Rahm, Spain’s Ryder Cup trump cards

The Ryder Cup, to be held from September 24 to 26 at the Whistling Straits course (Haven, Wisconsin), will be attended by two Spanish players, Jon Rahm, who will be playing his second tournament, and Sergio Garcia, who will be playing his tenth edition and who, in this way, will be able to extend his record of points in the competition (25.5).

The golfer from Castellón has been one of the choices of the European captain, the Irishman Padraig Harrington, who has also opted for his compatriot Shane Lowry and the Englishman Ian Poulter.

Thus, the European team is composed of Jon Rahm, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrel Hatton, Bernd Wiesberger, Rory McIlroy, Viktor Hovland, Paul Casey, Matt Fitzpatrick, Lee Westwood, Sergio Garcia, Shane Lowry and Ian Poulter.

Rahm will play the Ryder Cup as world number one and after being named Player of the Year by the PGA of America, an honor that has gone to a Spanish golfer for the first time.
