If making a hole in one is very difficult, something that is achieved, perhaps, once in a lifetime, making three in three years is little short of a miracle. That is what Margaret Robinson, an Irishwoman who has lived in Fuengirola for some thirty years, has achieved.
Since she left Dublin, together with her husband Tony Robinson, some three decades ago, to make the Costa del Sol her life base, golf has become for both of them their main occupation, and the Cerrado del Aguila golf club their second home. On this course, “the one we like best on the Costa” -they say- they spend most of the day. Tony was the winner of the first competition played at Cerrado del Aguila in 2007.
Margaret, a 12 handicapper, hit her first hole-in-one at this same club in 2012. It was on hole 2, 120 meters, using an 11 wood.
The second hole-in-one was in 2013 in Cala Nova, on the 17th hole, 123m. using the same club.
In April last year he got his third hole-in-one at La Cala, south course, on the 7th hole, this time using an 8-iron.
On the last two occasions the Irishwoman achieved her feat in official competitions.
This woman is living proof that in golf, luck is for those who seek it.
