The Andalusian team wins the XVI Andalusia vs Algarve Match

The Andalusian team has won by a score of 8.5-7.5 in the traditional Match Andalusia vs Algarve that has been held for two days in the magnificent Portuguese complex of Amendoeira Golf Resort. The sixteenth edition of this tournament will be remembered as one of the most exciting in recent years. In fact, at the end of the first day, both teams, made up of 6 boys and 4 girls, finished equal on 4 points after the foursomes and individual matches.

This year the Andalusian team was formed by Enrique Marín, Laura Gómez, María Parra, Antonio Cruz-Conde, Andrés Tamayo, Sara García, Pablo Rodríguez-Tabernero, Gonzalo Leal, Ana Peláez and Ángel Hidalgo. All of them have been selected for this event by occupying the top positions of the Ranking Andalusian 2012 in the categories Cadet, Infant and Alevín.

The second and final day started with clear victories for the Andalusian pairs in the foursomes. Maria Parra widened the advantage, but the tough Portuguese team did not give up and won three consecutive points in the individual games to get back into the fight for the victory.

With everything still to be decided, it took until the last hole of the two remaining matches for Pablo Rodríguez-Tabernero and Ángel Hidalgo to score the decisive point and a half that gave Andalusia the final victory.

After the conclusion of the competition, both delegations shared lunch in the atmosphere of familiarity and camaraderie that has always characterized this Match Andalusia vs Algarve.
