Thus, the reopening of the golf courses on the Costa del Sol begins on May 18, and they do so according to the protocol that each of the courses has had to define according to their own characteristics, and always in accordance with the general limitations that have been dictated by the health authorities.
The president of Turismo Costa del Sol Francisco Salado has been very satisfied and hopeful that a key sector such as “golf can reopen, always complying with all safety standards established so that players can practice with all the guarantees”.
Francisco Salado has highlighted that despite the forced closure of the golf clubs, during these two months of confinement the Costa del Sol – Costa del Golf Courses, “the professionals have been taking scrupulous care of the grass and keeping the facilities in perfect condition, with less staff and with a reduced schedule, in order to prepare their courses for the reopening, which are in perfect condition”.
Salado has indicated that “the reactivation of the golf courses will be key to the economic recovery of the Costa del Sol, as it is a safe sport, where it is easy to maintain the safety distance of two meters between people, and it is also developed in a totally individual way”.
In addition to this fact, according to the president of Costa del Sol Tourism “the measures established by the protocol of the Royal Spanish Golf Federation to avoid contagions with more separation between players, who must wear gloves and masks, added to the restriction of only one person per buggy to make the tour of the holes or walking, which will make players to practice their favorite sport feeling even safer.
In addition, among the new measures to be followed, the obligation to arrive at the club ten minutes earlier stands out, eliminating the usual prior at the club between players, who would have direct access to the first hole. It is also recommended to play with your own equipment and, in the case of renting clubs, they will be disinfected before being rented again. In addition, everything will have to be prepaid.
