
The par 3 course of the La Cañada Golf Club has hosted the first appointment of the II Phase of the Small Circuit of Andalusia 2013. The main novelty in this second half of the season is the inclusion of two new events (La Cañada Golf Club y Almenara Golf Resort) in the central area of Andalusia with the aim of reducing the number of players who were left out of the cut and on the waiting list to participate in this area of competition.
As for La Cañada, a total of 80 players between the ages of 5 and 11 took part in the return of this circuit for the youngest players.
Regarding the winners, it should be noted that half of the categories in play were won by local players. Thus, Paula Burrea Barrosa (Alevín Femenino), Patience Rhodes (Especial Femenina), Alejandra Otero-Saavedra Rivas (Benjamín Femenino 10 and 9 years), and Alejandra Otero-Saavedra Rivas (Benjamín Femenino 10 and 9 years). and PabloTorres Lobato (Benjamín Masculino 8 and under), added their first victory in this new phase.
In addition, José García Chacón, author of an excellent round of 31 strokes, won in the Special Men’s category, while FranciscoMercado Párraga (Benjamín Masculino 10-9 years) benefited from the handicap difference to break the tie at 36 strokes with Sergio Berenguer Macías.
On the other hand, Ana Coronil Aragón (Benjamín Femenino Femenino 8 and under) and Ricardo Andrades Expósito (Alevín Masculino), both with a card of 41 strokes, won in their respective categories.
Once this inaugural test of the Second Phase of the Pequecircuito de Andalucía, began the awards ceremony which was attended by José Luis Cuadrado, acting member of the Children and Youth Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation, and Antonia Gavira, representing the Club de Golf La Cañada.
The first round of the II Phase of the Pequecircuito will be completed on September 28th at Sancti Petri Hills Golf (Zone A), Benalmádena Golf (Zone B) and Golf Almerimar (Zone C).
