For the third consecutive year, the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and the insurance company REALE have signed a collaboration agreement for the implementation of the Program of Grants and Subsidies to young professionals in Andalusia. The presentation ceremony of the Neo Pro 2013 program was held at the New Headquarters of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation and was attended by María Pilar van Dulken, President of the Management Committee of the RFGA; Agustín Ruiz-Escribano, Territorial Director in Andalusia and the Canary Islands of REALE Seguros, Javier Pérez-Ximénez, Director of Golf of REALE Seguros in Andalusia; and the various scholarship players for the current season.
In the men’s category, the list of selected golfers is as follows Jaime Camargo Yravedra, Patrick Simard Bascuñán, Gervasio Cuquejo Merchán and as a debutant this year, Daniel Osorio Valencia. All of them have been chosen for being the first four players ranked in the Order of Merit as of December 31, 2012.
The main novelty of the Neo Pro 2013 program is the inclusion of two female players. Thus, Patricia Lobato Moreno has been appointed by REALE Insuranceas a sponsor of the aid program for Andalusian professional golfers.
In addition, Carmen Montava Eslava will be awarded a scholarship by the Professional Technical Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation under the same conditions as the previous one.
Among the requirements established to be eligible for the granting of these subsidies were some such as being in possession of the license for Andalusia or residing in our Autonomous Community for three years, not being more than 28 years old or not having a sponsor or having received official aid.
The objective of this plan is to help players in their first years as professionals in order to facilitate a faster incorporation to the European Tour. Thus, in addition to awarding each male player an amount of 10,000 euros and 3,000 euros for women, the RFGA will provide them with clothing and sports equipment and will manage a series of invitations to participate in tournaments and major circuits.
In return for this financial support, golfers may be required by the Technical Committee of Professionals for possible promotional events. They also agree to wear the logo of the RFGA and REALE Seguros on the golf bag and competition clothing.
During the ceremony, Javier Pérez-Ximénez, Director of Golf of REALE Seguros in Andalusia, expressed the “enormous illusion deposited in this third edition of a project that was born with the aim of giving that much needed push to the new generations of Andalusian professionals”.
For his part, Agustín Ruiz-Escribano, Territorial Director in Andalusia and the Canary Islands of Reale Seguros, wanted to highlight the excellent opportunity offered to the selected players. “Reale Seguros continues to bet on the world of golf despite the complex economic situation we are experiencing. The Neo Pro 2013 Program offers a magnificent opportunity to these young professionals and I am convinced that you will know how to take advantage of it,” he concluded.
Finally, María Pilar van Dulken, President of the Management Committee of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation highlighted the importance of having the sponsorship of Reale to carry out this initiative. “On behalf of the Royal Andalusian Golf Federation I would like to thank Reale Seguros for their unconditional support to the Neo Pro Program. Without your invaluable collaboration this beautiful project would not have been possible,” he said.
