The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup took place in Barcelona

Jordi Serrano and Federico Montllonch have been proclaimed champions in categories 1 and 2, respectively, in the individual stroke competition of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2014, one of the largest amateur golf tournaments in the world. The world event, organized by Turkish Airlines and which was a great success in its first edition last year, has held in Barcelona its sixteenth tournament of the fifty qualifying tournaments for the finals. The tournament, which took place at the Real Club de Golf El Prat, was attended by 50 players, all personally invited by Turkish Airlines.

Both winners scored 39 points in the individual stroke competition and have qualified for the Grand Final to be held in Antalya, Turkey, in November.

Julio Ruiz de Alda and Ramy Puga also won prizes, for getting the closest ball.

“We would like to congratulate everyone who participated in this qualifying tournament of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup championship in Barcelona,” said Orhan Güven, General Manager of Turkish Airlines in Barcelona. “It has been a splendid day of golf and I congratulate our winners, Jordi and Federico. We look forward to seeing them in Antalya in November”.

It was also a memorable day for Antonio Cortada and Josep Lassús, who won two business class flights and a seven-night stay at the five-star Maxx Royal Hotel in Antalya after their scorecard was the one chosen in the free draw in which all tournament players participated.

The first qualifying match of the 2014 Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup took place in March in India, kicking off a traveling tournament that visits various countries such as Spain, Great Britain, South Korea, China, the United States, Portugal, Italy, France, Greece, Argentina, Brazil and Turkey.
