Making the driving range more attractive by applying the latest image technology and measurement of ball flight parameters is the objective of Toptracer Range, a technology that is gaining ground worldwide and has just landed at the Real Club de Golf Guadalmina. The Marbella club has become the first in Andalusia to offer this cutting-edge technology to its members and visitors, who can enjoy a new and pleasant experience of practice and entertainment through the 21-inch monitors installed on fifteen tees of the driving range.
Through ball tracking technology using high-definition cameras, Toptracer provides accurate, live data that can be used either for practice purposes or to compete in games and challenges with friends. Thus, for example, we can visualize the result of each shot we hit, which includes data on distance, speed, launch angle, trajectory, deflection, etc.
Another of the utilities is to be able to play virtually different courses in the world, among which are for example the Old Course of St Andrews or Pebble Beach Links. We can play it alone or compete against several players in a match. You can also choose to compete for the longest drive or the closest shot to the flag. There are numerous possibilities for both entertainment and training due to the detailed information that the Toptracer offers for each stroke.
Paul Williams and José Márquez, Toptracer’s General Manager in Europe and Sales Director of the company, respectively, have made today at the RCG Guadalmina a presentation of the Toptracer Range to a large group of golf course managers of the Costa del Sol. With the manager of the RCG Guadalmina, Ignacio del Cuvillo, as host, have attended among others Sean Corte-Real, Ignacio Apolinario, Juan Alvarez, Pedro Moran, Domingo Gavira, Ignacio Sanchez, James Beesley, Fernando Jimenez, Victoria Dominguez and Francisco Aymerich.
